Reflection: "Tough" times
"God is our protection and strength. He always helps in
times of trouble."
Psalm 46:1
People experienced tough times in life and I
assure you that you are NOT the ONLY ONE who is striving and
facing difficult challenges right now. You may think that you want to
give up and die right away or even vanish because you are tired of facing
your problems in life. I personally feel the same way over a hundred times BUT
I always keep in mind that God's promise in Jeremiah
29:11 " I have good
plans for you not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and good
FUTURE.". And whenever I remember that I start telling myself
"My God is bigger than my problem and I know that He will make a
way." Even though I know to myself that I can't handle it
anymore and I am so weak to stand again and face the difficulties in life, I
will just think of three things:
1. God always loves me. ( Lamentation 3:22)
2. God will never leave me. ( Hebrews 13:5)
3. God takes care of me. (Nahum 1:7)
And viola, God made me strong again and apparently He increased my
faith in Him. In every challenges that i have experienced, I have learned to
trust God even more and whenever I look back at my life before I always caught
myself smiling. Why? because God never leaves me. In fact, he is always with me
all the time!
Here is one of my "TOUGH" times that I would like
to share with you:
Last March, my brother underwent a surgery and since I am the
eldest, it is my responsibility to help my mother to take care of
him. Sadly, my qualifying examination is fast approaching and we are only given
two weeks to review. I had NO choice but to review in the hospital hoping that
i could remember everything that I have read. My plans were (1) review my fundamentals of
accounting (FUND ACT1), (2) Partnership and Corporations (PARCOR), and (3)
Financial Accounting (FIN ACT1).
After finishing my Fund Act1, I have received a call from my
colleagues (from my school who were attending a review class for
the qualifying) telling me that ParCor was not included on our
qualifying anymore and she advised me to concentrate more on Fund Act1 and Fin
Act1. Since then I start reviewing my Fin Act1 instead of reviewing ParCor.
Eventually the judgement day came (QUALIFYING EXAM), I was full of
fears and worries. I keep praying to God that If he wants me to pass this
examination he will definitely make a way but if not I know that He has better
plans. I trust God so much.
When the papers were distributed, I was so shocked that almost 80%
of the questions are from ParCor. I don't really know what to do. Then I start
praying again telling God to remind me all the things that I have previously
learned before because I don't even reviewed it. In other words, "stock
knowledge" na lang. I want to cry but I can't. I have to answer my exam.
Everything that I have written on my papers was from stock knowledge which God
reminds me.
Subsequently, I felt like failing. I was so depressed and afraid
to see the results. Two weeks after, I have received the result. Being so
blessed. I passed! And that was beacuse of God. Yes, He is. I don't have any
idea if my answers are correct but He gave me the knowledge to answer all the
questions. :)
TRULY:
"When you have nothing left but God, then for the first time
you become aware that God is enough."
---Maude Royden
So I really encourage you to trust God especially in
"TOUGH" times. God loves you so much. He has good plans for you.
